Why we are here...

Coach Bec, Smiling wearing black top and glasses

Hey I'm Bec. Here's a little bit of my story and what brought me to this work.

My own journey has been anything but linear. I grew up across two countries in working-class/poor homes where survival came before dreams, and where no one really asked, “What do you want to be?”

For decades, I lived between who I truly was and who I thought I needed to be—trying to meet expectations I never really understood.

I've been a single parent, a full-time carer, employee, business owner and a fierce community advocate. My career in community services—spanning family supports, domestic violence, mental health and disability—was where I first felt truly valued. I worked in complex, high-pressure roles supporting people through crisis and systemic injustice. And while I thrived in my work, behind the scenes I was shrinking myself to fit, constantly battling imposter syndrome, and trying to keep everything together without even realising it.

Eventually, it all caught up with me. Burnout and Chronic Illness forced me to stop.

In the quiet that followed, I realised I’d spent most of my life doing, doing, doing—trying to prove my worth through my work identity and self-sabotaging at the same time. I had many times attempted to live life my way but always found myself falling back to the "I shoulds" that make up our societies' expectations. When I was forced to STOP, is when the real healing and believing began. That’s when I gave myself permission to really do things my way.

“The Queen of Reinvention”—is how I’ve been described.

Over the years, I’ve trialled and tested hobbies, modalities, philosophies, places, homes, relationships, and more than a few money-making (and money-losing) schemes. All of it has shaped my experience of life. Through it all, I’ve found a deeper sense of calm and a genuine gratefulness—for what I have, where I am, and for the opportunities still ahead.

Now, I bring together two decades of hands-on community welfare work, planning and coordination, mentoring and lived experience. My work is grounded in insight, empathy and strategy, drawing on a mix of strength-based, trauma-informed, and human-centred approaches. I’ve created a coaching practice for people who are just like I was—capable, resilient, outwardly “fine,” but quietly questioning… What am I doing?

I'm honest, compassionate and a guide for people who find themselves standing at a crossroads and unsure which way to turn, I’ll help you make sense of the confusion and find a direction that’s not only doable—but true to you and where you want to be.
